Major agenda of tastings, combinations and experiences with wine

 

The Tasting Room at The Wine Edition Wines from Spain will be embarking on an interesting enology trip around some of Spain's most famous winemaking regions such as Andalusia, Catalonia, Murcia, Tenerife and Castilla La Mancha, and also France, with a special representation of Bordeaux and Burgundy.

As at its very first event, Madrid Fusión The Wine Edition Wines from Spain 2022  will again be staging an experiential encounter with master tastings, participational activities and a number of learning spaces.

The Auditorium will be featuring chefs from around the world, sommeliers, producers, catalysts and key thinkers in the sector, with a comprehensive agenda of talks, encounters, round tables and combination-tasting sessions.

The other scenario, the Tasting Room, will be an open space in the sampling area where wineries and regions can present historic tastings of the world's best-known wines, along with gastronomic harmonies, new wine projects and tendencies.

Tasting Room: exploring the world's wine diversity

By way of a supplement to the expert tasting sessions in the Auditorium, the Tasting Room,will be an open sampling space where wineries and regions can present historic tastings of the world's best-known wines, along with gastronomic harmonies, new wine projects and tendencies.

Tinto Pesquera will be celebrating "50 años de buen hacer [50 years of fine work], at a tasting session with Lucía Fernández, Managing Director with Familia Fernández Rivera; Rodrigo Pons, the group's wine expert; and Lucía Pascual, from the technical team.

“Vinos con duende y escalofrío” [Wines with spirit and shiver] is the title chosen by Antonio Flores to demonstrate the legacy of González Byass alongside Corral de la Morería, in the Tasting Room at The Wine Edition Wines from Spain 2022.

Director of Jean Leon Mireia Torres and sommelier Sergi Castro will be presenting the Experimental Wines of Jean Leon, the iconic Penedés winery. 

“Los mejores matrimonios andaluces” [The best Andalusian matrimonies] will be a special tasting session of local vintages and artisan cheeses, headed up by Paz Ivisón, an academic from the Andalusian Gastronomy and Tourism Academy, alongside "fromellier" Guillermina Sanchez-Cerezo.

Marqués de Cáceres will be holding its "50-year tasting session" with Cristina Forner, Chairman of Bodegas Marqués de Cáceres; Fernando Costa, Enologist and Winery Manager; and Fernando Gómez, Emeritus Enologist.

Chef David Chamorro, winery owner Raquel Pérez Cuevas and journalist Pablo García-Mancha will be carrying out a number of "Disruptive harmonies of Ontañón and family”. 

The Madrid Fusión The Wine Edition Tasting Room will also be experiencing the best Burgundy vintages with the Helfrich family. This event will feature Paula Cuadrado, Head of Sales Spain and Portugal FH (Group LGCF); Alize Drouet, a Burgundy wine specialist; and Stephane Poisson, Brand Ambassador Famille Helfrich.

The Makro España wine specialist group: Íñigo Lavado, advisory chef; Víctor Ballesta, national wine purchaser; Rubén Palomares, the group's wine expert; and sommelier Ignacio Aragonés will be drawing up some irresistible combinations with "Marco de Jerez" wines.

Meanwhile Toni Cantos, Head of Enology at Juvé & Camps, will take a look at the 100 years of history of the mythical winery, as part of The Wine Edition.

Wines from Tenerife will also be given their own space in the "Six terroirs, six producers" session by María Hontoria and David Seijas, who will take us on a journey from tradition to cutting-edge.

Adan Isarael, Chairman of ASUMAN, will be there to taste 5 major Castilla La Mancha wines.

Finally, the Jumilla Protected Designation of Origin will be at the event in the Tasting Room, with its Study of Combinations, “Armonías en el paladar” [Harmonies on the palate], presented by Martín Coronado Álvarez, chef and sommelier; and Silvano García, president of Jumilla's Protected Designation of Origin Regulator ; Enrique Calduch, journalist; and Carolina Martínez Origone, from the General Secretariat of the Jumilla Protected Designation of Origin.
